Wild About Mushrooms Co.
                                                     Spring~Summer~Fall 2008
                            Events Schedule

All events are by advance registration with W.A.M. (Wild About Mushrooms Co.), unless otherwise noted. To register for events,
please register with WAM at the bottom of this page.

MAY 24-25 (26?)                              Sierra Nevada Morel & Porcini Forays
JUNE 7-8
On these 2 weekends, we will be camping (lodging likely in the vicinity) at a site yet to be selected, between Hwy. 50 and Hwy. 4. Morels will be our focus in May, and porcini in June, although we might find both at each foray. Other edibles and interesting specimens may be collected as well. Includes shared campsites, guided mushroom hunting, educational talks, and fabulous food! Fee: $150, kids under 13 half price.

NOTE: WAM's upcoming May Morel Foray was inadvertently scheduled to coincide with the Memorial Day three day weekend.  As a result, we're considering
expanding the Foray so our attendees can spend that extra day foraging in the mountains.   If you have interest in such an extension of the event, let us know and we will broaden our time frame for the event, as an individual option.  This would include an additional night of camping, adding a Sunday dinner and Monday breakfast to the Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast already planned, plus of course, the extra guided day in the mushroom picking woods.  Those who wish to participate only as originally advertised may do so.  However, if you'd like to add a day to your May Morel Foray experience, figure $75 dollars per person extra to our original $150 event fee ($225 total). If enough folks express interest, we will offer the extra day...

ALSO -- Personal guided morel foray offer ...

Feeling adventurous this spring? Want to hunt for morels with a small group, off the beaten track? WAM foray director David
Campbell explores numerous potential 'morel paradise' burn sites each year, many of which are hard to get to, or far away from the Bay Area, or of uncertain productivity until we get some timely rain, and the morels actually start fruiting...
This year, a broad spectrum of potential habitats in various California mountain zones beckons, some of which may produce as early as April, others as late as July.If you would like to join David for a private WAM morel hunting adventure, on short notice and with a substantial degree of self-reliance as far as food, transportation and lodging goes, please let us know and we will contact you once any given area's productivity has been verified and scheduling possibilities come into focus. In some cases, car camping may be the only convenient lodging.

On-site personal morel hunting guide cost will be $250 minimum, at $125 per person per day. Group size will be limited to 6 attendees. Children 12 and under accompanied by parent/guardian may attend for $65 per day.

These potential forays are in addition to the regular scheduled forays, to which we bring a chef and kitchen crew, and a greater emphasis is put into  the dining experience. (See above)

Please let us know if possibly interested.
